In my teen years I took a watercolor class taught by a professional artist and I instantly fell in love. Deep down I wanted to be an artist one day, but I didn’t believe in myself enough to make it happen. In college I fell into working with special needs children and that became my passion for a while. I chose to study education and children’s literature for my major and there started my journey back to stories and illustration. In my mid-thirties I finally picked up a paint brush again, and it has been a journey of discovering who I am as an artist and what I feel God has put on my heart to express. I think my work attempts to capture the imagination and innocence of childhood, but also I hope that my art very simply makes people feel happy.
I work in a cozy studio along side my husband, who is also an artist! Together we have three adventurous and creative kiddos, 1 goofy aussiedoodle, 12 chickens, and thousands of buzzing honey bees.
